Jump23 Softshoe

Our Jump23 Softshoe class is the perfect introduction to formal Irish Dance classes for dancers aged 5-7 years.

Jump23 follows on from the Jump’n Jig program and young dancers continue their gross motor development learning correct warmup, stretching, posture, technique, musicality and steps which form their first reel and light jig.

Dancers will also commence basic hardshoe moves as well as learn to count from one to ten in Gaelic.

Beginner Softshoe

In our Beginner Softshoe classes, dancers focus on establishing familiarity with Irish music and steps.

 

Dancers build fundamentals essential to technique and body alignment through correct warmup, age-appropriate stretching, and progressive drills to build a strong foundation of technique.

Dancers in the Beginner Softshoe class will learn the four beginner solo sofsthoe dances - reel, light jig, single jig and slip jig.

Advanced Beginner Softshoe

In our Advanced Beginner Softshoe classes, dancers focus on establishing familiarity with a larger variety of Irish music, tempos and steps.

 

Dancers continue building fundamentals essential to technique and body alignment through correct warmup, stretching and progressive technical drills.

 

Dancers will consolidate the four beginner softshoe dances and commence more advanced primary level dances. Basic ceili dances, Gaelic and general knowledge questions in preparation for the Grade 1 examination are also taught in this class.

Primary Softshoe

In our Primary Softshoe classes, dancers focus on establishing familiarity with a larger variety of Irish music, tempos and steps.

 

Dancers continue building fundamentals essential to technique and body alignment through correct warmup, stretching and progressive technical drills.

 

Dancers will commence more advanced primary level dances. Basic ceili dances, Gaelic and general knowledge questions in preparation for Grade 1 & 2 examinations are also taught in this class.

Hardshoe

Dancers will start in the beginner hardshoe class building strength, flexibility and
co-ordination in the ankles and feet.

 

As dancers progress to the advanced class and then continue to championship level, they will be constantly challenged with rhythmic combinations in traditional solo dances and modern choreographies.
