Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's - about our dance school and Irish dancing

  • "What do we need to bring to our first dance class?"
For your first class we don't expect you to have 'all the bits and bobs.' Just make sure you have a water bottle and come in clothes you can dance in - preferably active wear
  • "What classes are offered at Claddagh School of Dance?"
At Claddagh, we specialise in Irish dance classes for dancers of all ages and abilities in Mackay, Marian and also virtually. We have three streams of programs - Our preschool Jump’n Jig classes for dancers aged 18 months to 5 years old, our curriculum classes for children aged 5 to 17 year old and our adult program for dancers 18 and beyond! We offer soft-shoe classes where dancers can learn traditional and modern solo as well as group (Ceili) dances. We also offer hard-shoe classes where dancers learn how to use their feet rhythmically in both traditional and modern styles.
