At Claddagh School of Irish Dance, we believe that every child deserves the chance to shine. Whether they’re just starting their dance journey or dreaming of performing on the world stage, our structured programs for ages 6–17 nurture confidence, skill, and a lifelong love of Irish culture.
With pathways for recreational dancers, those interested in performance and competition, and students working towards formal dance qualifications, every dancer can grow at their own pace- supported by a caring community and expert teachers.
Explore Our Youth Dance Programs
Jump23 Softshoe (Ages 5–7)
A perfect follow-on from our preschool program, Jump23 Softshoe focuses on building coordination, musicality, and confidence through playful learning. Dancers also start exploring basic hardshoe steps and counting in Gaelic !
Beginner/Advanced Beginner/Primary Softshoe (Ages 6+)
Perfect for new and developing dancers, this program focuses on strong dance foundations, posture, rhythm, and cultural knowledge. Dancers enjoy the fun of solo and group dances and have opportunities to perform in our annual concert and community events.
Intermediate Softshoe
For dancers ready to take the next step, this program introduces more intricate footwork, advanced drills, and exciting choreography - preparing dancers for examinations and performance opportunities.
Championship Program
Our highest-level program for dedicated dancers committed to excellence. This comprehensive class covers advanced softshoe, hardshoe, ceili, performance choreography, and exam preparation. Many of our World Champion dancers have emerged from this program!
Hardshoe Classes
Dancers can begin hardshoe training after 12 months of softshoe experience. These classes develop the strength and precision needed for powerful, rhythmical hardshoe dancing.
